| Introduction and purpose: This study aimed to identify the dimensions and components of university maturity in the era of emerging technologies and to develop a localized model for assessing the maturity level of Iranian universities. As digital technologies increasingly shape higher education, a clear framework was needed to understand the current status and support effective planning. Methodology: The research used a qualitative design with an interpretive phenomenological approach. Participants included 19 faculty members from public universities in Iran selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via semi-structured interviews and analyzed using interpretive thematic analysis with open, axial, and selective coding. Trustworthiness was ensured through Guba and Lincoln’s criteria. Findings: The analysis yielded 70 initial codes, 10 components, and four main dimensions of university maturity: structural (technological infrastructure and data governance), process (technological leadership and technological learning), cultural (technology acceptance and an innovation-oriented culture), and outcome (educational, organizational, and innovation-related impacts). Discussion and Conclusion: The proposed model offers a practical framework for assessing current university maturity and guiding digital transformation strategies. Strengthening digital infrastructure, improving data governance, enhancing technological leadership, and promoting continuous learning are essential for achieving maturity in the technological era. | ||
