| Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common childhood disorders, significantly impairing focus, memory, and daily functioning in affected children. This study aimed to examine and compare the effects of two interventions—transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and mindfulness training—on enhancing attention and working memory in children with ADHD. The research employed a quasi-experimental design using a pre-test and post-test with experimental groups. The study population consisted of children aged 7 to 12 diagnosed with ADHD from counseling centers in Sanandaj, Iran. Participants were randomly assigned to two experimental groups. The first group received tDCS, while the second group participated in mindfulness exercises. Psychological assessments measuring attention and working memory were administered to evaluate treatment effects. Statistical analyses indicated significant improvements in both attention and working memory across both intervention groups. Notably, both tDCS and mindfulness training led to enhanced attention, while mindfulness training exhibited a greater impact on improving working memory. Findings from this study suggest that both tDCS and mindfulness training can be effective approaches to improving cognitive functioning in children with ADHD. These results may guide clinicians in utilizing diverse and complementary methods to manage ADHD in children, potentially enhancing their quality of life. | ||
