چکیده
objective: The present study aimed to investigate the mediating role of marital adjustment in the relationship between responsibility and self-control with life satisfaction.

Methods: This applied research was conducted using a correlational design. The statistical population included married employees of the Department of Education in Isfahan County in 2024. A sample of 236 participants was selected through convenience sampling based on Soper's method (2021). Participants completed the Self-Control Scale (SCS), Responsibility Questionnaire (PSRQ), Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (RDAS), and Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). After an initial review, responses from two participants were excluded due to incompleteness, leaving data from 234 participants to be analyzed using Smart PLS3 software.

Results: The results revealed a positive and significant relationship between responsibility, self-control and marital adjustment with life satisfaction(p<0.05). Moreover, the structural model demonstrated a good fit, indicating that both the direct effects of responsibility and self-control on life satisfaction and their indirect effects through the mediating role of marital adjustment were significant(p<0.05).

Conclusions: These findings suggest that enhancing a sense of responsibility and self-control can improve couples' marital adjustment, thereby increasing individuals' life satisfaction.
