| After reviewing the syllabuses of humanities disciplines, including counseling, the course on counseling and psychotherapy theories was changed from one two-unit course to two two-unit courses. One of the sources for this course is the book Counseling and Psychotherapy Theories by Shafiabadi and Naseri, which is known as the first authored book in Iran. Considering the compilation of the approved and new syllabuses by the Ministry of Science, monitoring the current situation, criticizing and reviewing them, and identifying shortcomings and weaknesses are among the necessary measures in the path of humanities transformation. In this article, after introducing the book, the author, and its various chapters, it has been evaluated from several angles (appearance, title, relevance of the book to the approved syllabus of this course, the ratio of the book's content to other related courses, the ratio of the book's different sections, the book's content, and the ratio of the book to existing and similar books). The results show that the present book, while being novel in its time, currently has some shortcomings and that in future editions, in addition to content, writing, and editing corrections, chapters need to be added to the book to match the approved syllabus of the Ministry of Science. Finally, suggestions are made to improve the quality of the book. | ||
