چکیده
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between leadership styles and job performance with the mediating role of psychological empowerment using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).
Methods: The descriptive research method was of the correlation type and the research population was all employees of the General Department of Sports and Youth in Ardabil province in 2019. The research sample included 81 employees who were selected by census sampling. Research tools included path-goal leadership questionnaires, psychological empowerment and job performance. Data analysis was done using structural equation modeling (SEM) using SPSS-24 and AMOS-24 software.
Results: The results showed that among the leadership styles, only the directive leadership style has a direct and significant positive relationship with the job performance of employees (Sig=0.003, β=0.46). Psychological empowerment also had a direct and significant positive relationship with the job performance of employees (Sig=0.038, β=0.21). In addition, leadership styles were not able to have an indirect effect on job performance through psychological empowerment.
Conclusion: In general, based on the results of this research, it can be said that due to the role of directive leadership in improving the performance and efficiency of employees and also creating a sense of empowerment in them, it is necessary.
