چکیده | ||
Purpose : Swimming is recognized as a fundamental sport that significantly contributes to physical and mental well-being. Examining its development in Iraq compared to advanced countries highlights the urgent need for strategic efforts to promote its growth. Methods : This study was conducted using a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research sample included professors of sports management, officials from the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports, members of the Boxing Federation's executive board, CEOs of licensed clubs, as well as club supervisors, head coaches, and coaches. A total of 15 participants were selected. Results : The findings reveal that swimming in Iraq faces major challenges due to a lack of infrastructure, limited financial and governmental support, and minimal integration into educational and cultural systems. In contrast, countries like the U.S., Australia, Japan, and France have achieved success through strategic investment and strong institutional support. Iraq requires comprehensive planning and international collaboration to develop this sport effectively. Conclusion : In conclusion, Iraq faces significant challenges in developing swimming due to inadequate infrastructure, limited support, and lack of systematic education. In contrast, developed countries have succeeded through strategic investment and widespread promotion of the sport. To advance swimming in Iraq, comprehensive planning, cultural engagement, and international collaboration are essential. | ||
